Blog posts are a great way to tell stories about a company or organization and the people they serve. My writing style varies based on the desired audience and goal, such as the recruitment of job applicants, the respect of academics, new customer acquisition, or internal communications.
Website Copy
First impressions are important, and website copy can make or break a visitor’s interest in your business. Copy can include mission statements, origin stories, descriptions of services, and information about leaders and staff. Past clients have included nonprofits, small businesses, and large corporations.
Editing
Disseminating one’s work can be intimidating, especially for those who don’t feel confident in their writing abilities. This is one of my favorite tasks to take on. I’ve edited cover letters for jobs, university applications, newsletters, and copy for websites. With each project I identify the goal of the client I’m working with: Do you want a simple copy edit? Suggestions on reorganizing a piece? Support in developing a strong statement? I’m here for all of it.

I can walk organizations through journalists’ behind-the-scenes process of reporting and writing a news article, and provide tips on best practices for sharing stories and insights with the media.

Who is Nuala?
I’m a professional writer who loves telling stories. I have more than a decade of experience working as a journalist, where I’ve pursued investigative features, written daily news stories, and developed opinion columns. This love of interviewing and writing extends to helping people develop the copy they need to advance their businesses and missions.
I’m based in the beautiful Bay Area, and when I’m not working I can be
found riding horses or hiking around the woods with my dog.
